Clearing your browser history

Step-by-step instructions to clear your browser history on desktop computers and mobile devices.

To view and clear your browser history, follow the steps specific to the type of device and browser you're using:

Clear your browser history on mobile devices

Google Chrome (Android & iPhone/iPad iOS)

  1. Open Chrome on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the three dots (menu) in the top-right (Android) or bottom-right (iOS) corner.
  3. Select History.
  4. Tap on Delete browsing data.
  5. Choose your preferred time range (e.g., Last hour, Last 24 hours, All time).
  6. Check the box next to Browsing history (you can also select other data types to clear).
  7. Tap Delete data or Delete browsing data.

Safari (iPhone/iPad iOS)

  1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Safari.
  3. Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data.
  4. Confirm your action by tapping Clear History and Website Data.

Mozilla Firefox (iPhone/iPad iOS)

  1. Open Firefox on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the three bars (menu) in the bottom corner.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Scroll down to Privacy and then select Data Management.
  5. Tap Web Site Data
  6. Clear All Web Site Data and OK to confirm.

Mozilla Firefox (Android)

  1. Open Firefox on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the three bars (menu) in the top-right corner.
  3. Go to History.
  4. In the top right, select the rubbish bin icon.
  5. Choose your preferred time range to delete (e.g., Last hour, Today and yesterday, Everything).
  6. Press Delete to complete the process.

Microsoft Edge (iPhone/iPad iOS)

  1. Open Edge on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the three dots (menu) in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Go to Privacy and Security.
  5. Select Clear browsing data.
  6. Choose your preferred time range and data types.
  7. Tap Clear data to complete the process.

Microsoft Edge (Android)

  1. Open Edge on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the three dots (menu) in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Go to Privacy and Security.
  5. Select Clear browsing data.
  6. Choose your preferred time range (e.g., Last hour, Last 24 hours, All time).

Google Chrome (Mac/PC)

  1. Open Chrome on your desktop.
  2. Click on the three dots (menu) in the top-right corner.
  3. Click on Delete browsing data.
  4. Choose a time range and select Browsing history (and any other data you want to clear).
  5. Click Delete data.

Mozilla Firefox (Mac/PC)

  1. Open Firefox on your desktop.
  2. Click the three bars (menu) in the top-right corner.
  3. Select History and then click Clear Recent History.
  4. Choose a time range from the dropdown menu.
  5. Check the box for Browsing & Download History (you can also choose other data types).
  6. Click Clear or OK to clear your history.

Microsoft Edge (Mac/PC)

  1. Open Edge on your desktop.
  2. Click the three dots (menu) in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings and then click Privacy, search, and services.
  4. Scroll down to Delete browsing data and select Choose what to clear.
  5. Select the date range in the drop-down menu and tick the box for Browsing history (and any other data you want to clear).
  6. Click Clear now.

Safari (Mac)

  1. Open Safari on your Mac.
  2. Click on History in the top menu bar.
  3. Select Clear History.
  4. Choose your preferred time range (e.g., the last hour, today, today and yesterday, all history).
  5. Click Clear History.
